Transactions
From the bottom navigation press the + button. The default transaction type selected from the top of the screen is Expense.
Tap the field showing your currency and 0 to add in the amount you’ve spent, then select the category against which this should be. For example, if you’ve paid at a restaurant your total bill would be a Food & Drink expense. Lastly, select the account you paid for.
Tap Finish to add the transaction.

From the bottom navigation press the + button. Select your transaction type as Income from the top of the screen..
Tap the field showing your currency and 0 to add in the amount you’ve earned, then select the category against which this should be. For example, if you’ve earned this through the profit of a business you run, your profit would be Business Income/Profit. Lastly, select the account this was deposited in.
Tap Finish to add the transaction.

As this type of account and transaction is primarily used for personal loans, the subtypes are related to lending.
From the bottom navigation press the + button. Select your transaction type as Person from the top of the screen. Then select the subtype of the Person Transaction. Select whether you are borrowing an amount or returning it, or if you have lent an amount and are receiving it back.
Tap the field showing your currency and 0 to add in the amount concerned.
Select the Person Account you are interacting with and then the account you are receiving or giving from.
Tap Finish to add the transaction.
If you don’t expect to get this amount back, or you aren’t expected to give it back. Try adding an Expense (link to Add an Expense) or an Income (link to Add an Income) transaction.

Use this type for when you are moving money between your own accounts and not when you’re sending it to someone. You can also use this for when you’re withdrawing money from your account from an ATM or a Cash Cheque.
From the bottom navigation press the + button. Select your transaction type as Transfer from the top of the screen.
Tap the field showing your currency and 0 to add in the amount you’re transferring.
Select the account you’re moving this money from, and then where you’re moving this money to.
Tap Finish to add the transaction.

Navigate to Money from the bottom navigation, and then tap the ATM button at the center of the screen.
Tap the field showing your currency and 0 to add in the amount you’re transferring.
Select the account you’re moving this money from, and then where you’re moving this money to.
Tap Finish to add the transaction.

After selecting the basics of your transaction, press Add Details from the bottom of your screen.
- To change the date of when the transaction happened, tap on the date shown and select a date from the calendar and press Ok. You can add both previous transactions as well as upcoming ones.
- Add a description. Describe what kind of transaction this was, what it was against, anything that would help you remember it. Tap on the field and type directly into it.
- Add a tag. Create custom tags to help you remember what the transaction was against. Tap on the + at the end of the Add Tag field, select a tag from our suggestions or type it in yourself and press Apply.
- Enter Location. Keep track of where exactly you spent this, whether it was a restaurant, a store, or a spa. Tap on the field and select a location via the map.
- Attach Receipt. Link your transactions, especially your expenses or your incomes with your receipts or your payslips. Tap on the field to take a picture from your camera or your gallery. Hysab Kytab does not store these images, we only store the image’s location in your phone.
- Link to an Event. Events require the movement of money, whether it is a birthday or a trip, link your transactions to it. Tap Link to an Event, select the event you want to link it to, and press Apply. Haven’t created the event yet? No worries, tap Create New instead, fill in the details, and press Create. - Set as Recurring Transactions. Sometimes we know exactly the amount we have to pay or will be receiving every month. Tap Recurring Transaction to set up how frequently it will occur. Edit the frequency by tapping on Monthly, select what time you’d like it to be logged, and what specific day or the date for it to be repeated by tapping on _ of every Month/Week, and select the day or date through the Calendar. Press Apply to activate it. You’ll receive a notification every time it is logged.
When you’ve added all the details you wanted to, press Finish to save and log the transaction.
Any expense transaction you create during a month will be automatically connected to its same category budget within the same month. There are no extra steps you need to follow.
Events require the movement of money, whether it is a birthday or a trip, link your transactions to it.
From the bottom navigation press the + button. Select your transaction type from the top of the screen. Add in all the details required on this screen then tap Add Details.
Tap Link to an Event, select the event you want to link it to, and press Apply. Haven’t created the event yet? No worries, tap Create New instead, fill in the details, and press Create. (link to Create an Event)
Press Finish to save and log the transaction.
To delete a transaction, tap on the transaction from wherever you are in the application.
From the top right of your screen, tap on the Trash Can icon to delete your transaction. Confirm your selection by tapping Delete Transaction in the pop up.
This is an irreversible action and you have to create the transaction again to undo it. Any connected accounts will have their balances restored to what they were without that particular transaction.
To edit a transaction, tap on the transaction from wherever you are in the application.
From the top right of your screen, tap on the Pen icon to edit your transaction. All details in your transaction can be edited.
